The Mission

KicksForCause aims to provide players from all circumstances the opportunity to play soccer, the game we cherish. From hosting fundraising tournaments and private sessions here in New York City to aiding players in Colombia to attend their tournaments, we believe that everyone deserves to play soccer based on their skill and love for the game rather than their economic circumstances.

Our mission started when a coach at our soccer club in NYC began collecting used/unwanted soccer equipment, in order to bring it back to his hometown for the kids to have. He would then send pictures from his hometown, giving us a new perspective of the circumstances that some players grow up in. Determined to make a difference, we contacted him.

He put us in touch with a trusted coach at a local club in the Medellín area. This coach explained to us that his youth girls team planned to attend a national tournament, but lacked the funding for travel expenses. So, we set up a fundraiser and raised the money that was needed. Despite this success, we wanted to engage more with the soccer community here in New York, so for our next fundraiser we hosted a tournament.

This tournament was a great success, but we wanted to create a more consistent stream of revenue, so we began to hold private training sessions. We are seeking to continue to raise more money, providing this club and hopefully others with funds for equipment, quality field space, travel, and other expenses.
